ADHD

At Mind Body Seven, we are experts in ADHD.

Our clinicians specialize in ADHD with several being published authors of books on ADHD.

ADHD can have both positive and negative impacts on your life. It’s important to identify both the specific challenges you face because of ADHD, as well as how your ADHD benefits you. Everyone experiences inattention to some extent; however, ADHD can impair function and have a negative impact on self-esteem, work, school, and relationships. Many people with ADHD feel that something is getting in the way of achieving their highest potential and living their best life. Fortunately, there are a variety of treatments that can help you reclaim your ability to focus.

Treatment for ADHD involves:

1) Evaluation and Diagnosis (diagnostic interview, rating forms, laboratory testing, and genetic testing when appropriate, computerized ADHD screening when appropriate)

2) Developing a Treatment Plan (therapy, organizational skills and time management training, lifestyle and dietary modification, supplements, medication management, mindfulness, and evidence-based mind-body therapies)

3) Ongoing Treatment (ongoing monitoring of how well the treatment is working and adjustments as needed for optimal results)

Each person is different, and our team is committed to exploring individualized approaches to find the treatment that is best for you. We provide comprehensive evaluations and treatment for children and adults with ADHD.

Personalized ADHD treatment

When it comes to ADHD treatment, it’s important to recognize whether or not the individual is an appropriate candidate for such treatment. ADHD is a common mental health disorder that affects many individuals and can interfere with an individual’s ability to succeed in life, making diagnosis and treatment viable steps in a mental health plan.

If someone suspects they may have ADHD, there are certain signs and symptoms they should look out for that could indicate this condition. Such signs and symptoms include:

  • Excessive fidgeting or squirming while seated

  • Difficulty maintaining attention during conversation or other activities

  • Difficulty following instructions

  • Trouble organizing activities

  • Appearing to be “on the go” all the time

  • Talking excessively without considering others’ feelings or opinions

  • Blurting out answers before questions are completed

  • Having difficulty waiting for their turn in conversations or activities

  • Struggling to complete tasks due to lack of focus.

When determining if ADHD treatment is right for you, it’s important to consider the duration and intensity of these symptoms and how they affect one’s life. If you experience ADHD-related issues on a regular basis that interfere with your daily functioning, then you likely can benefit from ADHD treatment options such as medication management, counseling services (such as cognitive behavioral therapy), support groups/therapy groups specifically geared towards ADHD management skills building, and lifestyle modifications.

It is also beneficial for individuals seeking ADHD treatment to understand that effective treatments often consist of multiple different options working together rather than relying on one single method alone.

If you believe you have ADHD and wish to seek treatment, we can assess you in order to determine if ADHD is present and what type of ADHD treatment might be most helpful for you. We provide evidence-based interventions tailored to an individual’s needs that will best increase the chances of successfully managing the symptoms associated with ADHD.
